The Optical module is an optoelectronic device for photoelectric and electro-optic conversion. The sending end of the Optical module converts electrical signals into optical signals, and the receiving end converts optical signals into electrical signals. The Optical module are classified according to the packaging form. The common ones are SFP, SFP+, SFF, Gigabit Ethernet interface converter (GBIC), etc.
The transmission part is: the input of a certain bit rate electrical signal is processed by an internal driver chip to drive a semiconductor laser (LD) or light emitting diode (LED) to emit a corresponding rate modulated optical signal. It is equipped with an automatic optical power control circuit inside to maintain stable output optical signal power.
The receiving part is: the optical signal with a certain bit rate is input into the module and converted into an electrical signal by the optical detection diode. After passing through the preamplifier, the corresponding bit rate electrical signal is output.
